Bandit Kings of Ancient China
Bandit Kings of Ancient China is a turn-based strategy role-playing simulation developed and published by Koei for MS-DOS, the Amiga and the Apple II. It was well received on its release and was considered a significant step forward in the complexity of strategy games.
Story
The game is based on the novel Water Margin and is set in ancient China during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty. The player fights with the ten bandits to build, maintain and command an army to eventually capture the evil Gao Qiu, China's Minister of War, before the Jurchen invasion in January 1127. There are also economic control options, such as taxes and troop unrest.
