Story

The land of Faerûn is in turmoil. Refugees cross the wilderness, fleeing the hellish fortress of Elturel. An evil cult marches across the Sword Coast, uniting all races of monsters and men under the banner of a cryptic god they call the Absolute. Chaos is shaking the foundations of Faerûn, and no one can escape its clutches. Not even you. The grotesque nautiloid ship emerges from nowhere and eclipses the sun. Its writhing tentacles tear you away from where you stand. The Mind Flayers have come and trapped you on their ship to infect you with their terrible parasite. You will become one of them. By fate or luck, you survive when the Nautiloid crashes in the outer reaches of the Sword Coast. You make your way to civilization, desperate to find a cure for the parasite ravaging your brain, and find yourself at the center of a conspiracy as deep as the Nine Hells. New enemies await you. And old enemies... the shadows are stirring. And all roads lead to the legendary city of Baldur's Gate.
