The game has a more compact structure than the latest installments in the series. Players control Basim, a young thief who becomes involved in a secret order. The story is set in flourishing Baghdad at the height of its cultural and scientific influence, where Basim, a young orphan boy marked by loss, struggles to survive by street robbery. Haunted by disturbing visions and driven by the search for answers, he reacts violently, forcing him to flee the city. Taken in by the Hidden Ones, he undergoes rigorous training, embraces their code, and develops his skills and purpose. As he uncovers the truth about himself and the world he has joined, Basim is driven toward a destiny that will change both his identity and his loyalty to the emerging creed.
