Armageddon Empires

Story

In 2025, human civilization makes first contact not with just one, but with two alien civilizations. The Machine Empire and the Xenopods have been enemies for over 10,000 years and are locked in a life-and-death struggle. While the battle for control of the solar system and Earth rages with unimaginable ferocity, neither side pays much attention to the planet’s insignificant inhabitants. Within a month of first contact, 99% of humanity is wiped out by thermonuclear fires, attacks with kinetic weapons, genetically engineered plagues, and starvation. The survivors scurry about like cockroaches, trying to stay out of the aliens’ way. A little more than 20 years later, the fighting stops as suddenly as it began. A turn of the tide shifts the front lines to other star systems, and all that remains on the devastated planet are scattered groups of human survivors and the abandoned remnants of the aliens’ forces. They are left to fend for themselves until the system can be reoccupied and the stranded units withdrawn. Earth smolders like a pile of ashes, and the once-blue-green jewel of the solar system has been transformed into a brown, scorched wasteland. That was 300 years ago. Now you must take command of one of four factions and build a small empire on the ruins and burning metal wrecks of your enemies. Gather resources, deploy armies, and mercilessly destroy your enemies. Only then can you rule the wasteland!
