A Nightmare on Elm Street
A Nightmare of Elm Street is an action game based on the movie of the same name, in which the player tries to free friends from the clutches of the evil Freddy Krueger. Find a way into Freddy's house on Elm Street, enter the nightmare world and fight him with unique powers or die trying! Before the game begins, the player must first select one of the five available characters to free Joey, who, as the selection screen shows, has already been captured by Freddy. If you spend too much time in this section, Freddy may capture random characters until there is only one character left to choose from, so choose a character quickly! Once a character is selected, all other characters are considered captured by Freddy and must also be rescued. Each character has a different soul value and a different power meter as well as unique abilities. The soul represents the player's health and when it runs out, the player dies. The power is used up every time the player uses a special ability.
Story
The game takes place in the Elm Street neighborhood and is played from a side-scrolling perspective. The game environment is inhabited by hostile characters (such as zombies, cats, dogs, skeletons, bats and minotaurs) that attack the character. If the player experiences a certain number of attacks, they lose a life. As the game takes place at midnight, certain areas are initially closed to the player and require a key to gain access later. In the individual buildings, the player must collect the bones scattered throughout the level before he/she can leave them. Once all the bones have been collected, a boss fight with Freddy begins. If you defeat Freddy, you can leave the area and receive a key that gives you access to a new area.
