The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is the second Zelda game for the Nintendo DS. The graphics are still in the cel-shading style, but the game has changed considerably compared to Phantom Hourglass: There are more puzzles and a new way of moving around by train. You'll have to draw your route to the next area on the map and then let the train take its course. While the train is moving, you'll have to be careful to avoid obstacles, animals and enemies on the tracks. In certain dungeons, both Link and Zelda will be playable, since they will have to work together to solve puzzles.

Story

- Link has a valuable new companion. As he traverses dungeons, he is accompanied by a Phantom, a giant suit of armor that responds to his commands. Players can tap the Phantom to control it, and then draw a line on the touchscreen to tell it where to go. The burly phantom can walk through fire or lava, be used as a platform to carry Link over dangers, or even intervene to protect Link from harm. - As Link pilots the train, players experience a satisfying combination of action and real-time puzzles as they decide which route to take and how best to control their speed. On the train, Link must find the best way to the end of the track while avoiding the constantly moving obstacles. On the way, Link may have to fire an on-board cannon at enemies that attack the train, or blow the whistle to scare animals away from the tracks. - Link uses a variety of new items and weapons, including the Whirlwind, which players activate by blowing into the Nintendo DS system's microphone. - As in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, players can draw notes on in-game maps using the stylus on the touch screen.
