Sweet Fuse: At Your Side

Sweet Fuse: At Your Side

Sweet Fuse is a mystery and romance visual novel in which the player takes on the role of Saki Inafune, who plays through seven days of death games. Much of the game consists of reading the story and dialogue. Occasionally, the player will be asked to choose what to have Saki say. If you choose the correct answers, you will sometimes receive an "affection point" for a particular character, which increases that character's affection level. There are moments when Saki gets angry, indicated by the screen shaking and turning red, and the player must decide whether to hold back his/her anger or let it run wild. "Explosive insight" sections take place when Saki needs to find a solution or an answer to a problem. Saki recalls the situation to mind, highlighting a series of key words and phrases in her thoughts. The player can select up to three highlighted words or phrases, and the player triggers Saki's epiphany if one of his or her selections is correct.[1] If the player does not select the correct phrases, it usually ends badly and he or she is asked to try again. The game follows a branching storyline with multiple endings; depending on the choices the player makes during the game, the storyline proceeds in a particular direction.

Story

Saki Inafune, the niece of legendary game developer Keiji Inafune, can't wait to visit her uncle's new theme park. She's invited to the opening ceremony and is looking forward to a day of fun and excitement when suddenly Count Hogstein - a villain as corpulent and clichéd as he is evil - blows up the Ferris wheel, takes the park management hostage and announces the start of a deadly series of games. Desperate to save her uncle, Saki volunteers to be a participant in Hogstein's games and finds herself in the midst of an excitement very different from what she expected when she woke up that morning. She must use all her cunning, determination, and extraordinary acumen to get herself and her fellow players - all available bachelors - out alive, and with a little luck, maybe find love.
