Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones

"Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones" is a supernatural horror role-playing game set in the strange worlds of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Stygian takes the player on a dark journey from a ruined Arkham to the depths of the Abyss. The gameplay experience promises a mix of varied role-playing and turn-based tactical combat in an authentic, illustrative 2D graphic style. In Stygian, you'll be able to create your character from scratch with a wide range of archetypal backgrounds with different origin stories, attributes, skills, traits and belief systems that determine how your character regains his lost sanity, as well as unique dialogue options. The game's narrative is closely related to the works of H. P. Lovecraft. In your quest, you'll use Erich Zann's violin to attract a devilish deity and convince the poor, unfortunate protagonist of "The Outsider" to join your group, among many others. The heavy burden of waging a desperate battle against powers you don't know will haunt you until the end of the game. Physical battles will be rare and difficult, sorcery will have profound and dangerous consequences, the loss of sanity will leave its mark on the characters in the form of mental illnesses, and sometimes the best solution will be to run away from the horrors that lurk in the night. Stygian takes the original themes of pulp and weird fiction and integrates them into the computer role-playing game genre. This promises a fresh (or spoiled from another point of view) breath of air for role-playing game fans.
