State of Mind
State of Mind is a futuristic thriller game that deals with transhumanism. The game explores themes of separation, disconnection and reunion in a world torn between a dystopian material reality and a utopian virtual future.
Story
You are Richard Nolan, a father and journalist from Berlin, who finds out that he, his wife and his son have been victims of mind uploads. However, Richard's upload went wrong. As a result, he still lives in the real world, but an incomplete second version of his self also exists in a secret virtual reality project. Realizing that he is literally a man torn apart, Richard embarks on a dramatic and dangerous quest for redemption. His goal is to reunite his family and his split self. Along the way, he soon realizes that this journey is not just about himself, but about the future of humanity.
