SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos primarily uses the King of Fighters series' command system, which includes light/strong kicks, punches, wipes, and charging attacks. Unlike its predecessor Capcom vs. SNK 2, this game lacks both air guards and the "groove system", instead focusing on faster-paced gameplay. Characters feature a simple 3-stage groin system for performing super special attacks, with basic filler options for punches and damage. Also, the sprites from the different series received new models and some special effects were changed in the command lists (for example, the player can no longer increase the damage of the Zujou Sashi that Choi Bounge uses by tapping the buttons).
