Returnal

Returnal is a roguelike third-person shooter video game from 2021, developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It follows Selene Vassos, an astronaut who lands on the planet Atropos in search of the mysterious "White Shadow" signal and is trapped in a time loop. After crash-landing on an alien planet that changes shape, Selene fights to survive by any means necessary. Each time she is defeated, the player is forced to restart the journey.

Story

Break the cycle of chaos on an ever-changing alien planet where even death is no escape. After crash landing on this changing world, Selene must search for her way out in the barren landscape of an ancient civilization. Isolated and alone, she fights with all means to survive. Defeated again and again, she is forced to begin her journey anew each time she dies.
