Story

After a mysterious disappearance terrifies Blackpool, England, the master detective is called to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor for the case. Very little of the manor survived the holocaust triggered when the detective disabled Charles Dalimar's immortality machine, but Emma Ravenhearst's ghost appears to him and warns him, but promises to help him if he continues. After inspecting the ruins up to a nearby lighthouse and the back garden, the master detective is thrown by Victor Dalimar into an open grave bearing his (or her) own name. After coming across Charles, the Master Detective sets to work recreating the scenes of Charles' insane life in steampunk, which the detective must now relive by solving one mystery after another. Once in an underground antechamber, the master detective must watch as the four souls previously rescued from the mansion reappear: Emma, Rose Somerset and their twin daughters Charlotte and Gwendolyn are locked up again and made living people in every scene. The detective must witness Charles' birth, his abused childhood, his incarceration in a mental institution, and the wedding he has planned for himself and Emma. After the detective travels through Charles' world, the final door (above Emma's chamber) opens to reveal a rudimentary mansion with a new immortality machine powered by the life forces of the kidnapped citizens of Blackpool. The master detective sneaks past the jubilant Charles and Victor and deciphers the clues from the enslaved prisoners to figure out how to shut down the machine to free Emma, Rose, Gwendolyn and Charlotte and destroy the Dalimars once and for all.
