Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat II is a fighting game developed by Midway for arcades in 1993. It is the second installment in the Mortal Kombat series and builds on the success of its predecessor by improving the gameplay and developing the mythos of the original game. Mortal Kombat II introduces more varied finishing moves and several iconic characters, such as Kitana, Mileena, Kung Lao, the hidden character Noob Saibot and the returning villain of the series, Shao Kahn.
Story
After his defeat, Shang Tsung begs his master Shao Kahn to spare his life. He tells Shao Kahn that he cannot refuse the invitation to Mortal Kombat and that the warriors from the Earth Kingdom must participate if they hold it in the outside world. Kahn agrees to this plan and restores Tsung's youth. He extends the invitation to Raiden, who gathers his warriors and takes them to the outside world. The tournament is dangerous because Shao Kahn has the home field advantage, and an Outer World victory would upset the Furies and allow the Outer World to subjugate Earth Thrall.
