MechWarrior

MechWarrior

"MechWarrior" is the first video game released in the "BattleTech" series. "MechWarrior" was the first video game to allow players to pilot a BattleMech from the perspective of a pilot (a MechWarrior). Compared to many of the subsequent MechWarrior games, this game gives the player a great deal of freedom, including choosing missions, buying and selling 'Mechs and parts, recruiting lance mates, and traveling throughout the Inner Sphere. In addition to the core gameplay mechanics, players had the opportunity to follow a role-playing-style story arc that unfolded over a period of five years (in-game time).

Story

The story is about a mech warrior named Gideon Braver Vandenburg. His family was murdered and the chalice that proves he is the heir to the throne of his planet Ander's Moon was stolen. Without the chalice, he is sent into exile. Gideon must assemble a force of mech warriors and battlemechs, find his family's murderers, and take revenge within five years or all will be lost. The story ends with the victory over the Dark Wing Mercenaries.
