Marble Madness

Marble Madness

Marble Madness is an isometric platform game in which the player controls a marble on the screen from a third-person perspective. The player controls the marble's movements with a trackball, but most home versions use game controllers with a directional pad. The object of the game is to complete six maze-like, isometric race courses before a set amount of time expires. When a player finishes a race, the remaining time is added to that of the next race. The game also allows two players to compete against each other. The tracks are populated with various objects and opponents that are meant to hinder the players. As the game progresses, the tracks become more difficult and more enemies and obstacles are added. Each track has its own visual theme. For example, the first race, titled "Training", is a simple track that is much shorter than the others, while the fifth race, called "Silly", has dotted patterns and is oriented in the opposite direction of the other tracks.
