Link returns from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to pick up the Wii Zapper and aim at a variety of targets in this shooting gallery-style game. In Link's Crossbow Training, anyone can pick up the Wii Zapper and become a master marksman in the quick-shooting stages. Dozens of fast-paced stages offer a wide variety of gameplay options, from shooting down stationary targets to defending a supply truck against onrushing hordes of enemies. In multiplayer mode, players can team up with their friends to use a Wii Zapper to beat the high score. Link's Crossbow Training comes bundled with the Wii Zapper. After a few rounds of Link's Crossbow Training, players will be more than ready to pick up one of the future Wii Zapper titles such as Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Ghost Squad and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Link's Crossbow Training includes three basic gameplay styles: target shooting, defender, and ranger. There are 27 stages in total, and these categories only roughly reflect how each stage works. The objective of each stage is to achieve the highest possible score within the time limit. All rounds can be played with multiple players: Players pass the Wii Zapper around and then play individually for the high score. Target Shooting: In the target shooting rounds, players shoot at targets that appear on the screen. In the first levels, the targets are stationary. As the difficulty increases in later levels, the targets move. If you hit the center of the target, you get more points, and if you hit one target after another without missing, you get a combo multiplier. Link can aim anywhere on the screen. Defenders: In defense rounds, players remain stationary, but can look and aim in all directions - sometimes even at a full 360-degree angle - by aiming from the screen. Hordes of enemies attack Link, and he must fight them off. These battles are very varied and range from fighting skeletons in the desert to defending a wagon against boar-riding bokoblins. Ranger: In the Ranger rounds, players can use the Control Stick to move through the level and the Wii Zapper to aim wherever they want. In these missions, Link storms enemy camps, fights his way through a forest, and tracks down enemies as he explores the environment. The Wii Zapper requires the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, both of which are housed in a comfortable and intuitive frame. The Nunchuk's control stick controls the player's movement (in stages that allow player movement), while with the Wii Zapper you simply move the aiming crosshairs on the screen. When you pull the trigger, Link fires his crossbow. If you aim off-screen, you can turn Link in a different direction (again, the stages allow this).
