Headhunter

Headhunter

Welcome to the future. In the early 21st century, gang wars and crime have led to the creation of a privatized law enforcement agency. The Anti-Crime Network (ACN) employs bounty hunters to take down the most wanted criminals using combat skills and high-tech weaponry. You are Jack Wade, a former police officer turned bounty hunter. At the beginning of the game, you are tied to an operating table and manage to escape. After passing out in an alley, you wake up from a coma in the hospital. With your license revoked and few memories, you are hired by Angela Stern to find her father's killer. You might even find out what happened to yourself if you stay alive long enough.... Headhunter is a bird's eye view action adventure game. At the top right of the screen you have a radar that tracks your movements and those of the enemy. Jack has a few moves at his disposal. He can duck and roll, push, pull and climb objects, as well as push himself against a wall. With this technique he can peek around the corner to get a better view of what's happening and then attack from that position, using the wall as protection. Between levels, Jack has a motorcycle that lets him move between different locations in the city, depending on the clues he gets. However, you'll have to collect skill points before arriving at a destination. Certain parts of the city are not accessible until you acquire the corresponding headhunter license. Since you have no memory of your past, you'll have to discard a number of licenses that will grant you access to larger parts of the city, weapons and gadgets. These are completed in a VR simulator called Law Enforcement Intelligence and License Approval (LEILA). At different times in the game, you'll have to visit the LEILA building and improve your license by training your combat, sneaking and driving skills.
