Flyff

Flyff (short for Fly for Fun) is a fantasy MMORPG from the Korean development company Gala Lab (formerly Aeonsoft & nFlavor). Flyff is a fairly typical party-oriented grinding game where no character can do everything. To play efficiently, you have to work together in groups to level up by killing monsters or masquerpets. What makes Flyff special is its flight system: flying is the normal method of locomotion for characters over level 20. Flyff is available in 13 countries and 10 languages, and is played by over 30 million people. GAMEPLAY: Players control an avatar that spends most of its active time fighting and most of its inactive time running a store. Character classes are chosen at level 15, and subclasses are chosen at levels 60 and 130, called the first, second, and third profession changes. The profession changes are mandatory - when a character reaches the required level, the experience gain is paused until they complete one of the profession quests. At level 120, the character can become a master, returning to level 60 with improved powers, and work their way back up to level 121 to become a hero. Starting with version 17, heroes can choose a third profession class at level 130 and advance to the current cap of 150. Level advancement is based on experience, which can be gained by killing mask pets and completing quests. Quests usually involve killing specific Masquerpets and collecting the various quest items they drop; a typical early quest is the Party of Is, which involves collecting 7 Chupims by killing Pukepukes. At each level, the character gains skill points that he can invest in skills for his job. There are two types of skills: Skills for attacking and Skills for protecting and/or improving. Skills can have cooldowns and cause status effects, with confusion, stun, and bleed being among the most common effects. It is not possible to reach the maximum level in all available skills until you are a level 60 master. Characters can be improved by acquiring items such as improved equipment. Mask pets drop equipment, in-game currency Penya, consumable items such as food and potions, and quest items, or players can purchase equipment from other players. All of these items can be traded between players; in Flyff, there is a lot of buying and selling to get the equipment you want. Most equipment has a minimum level at which it can be used. Combat In Flyff, there are close-range, long-range, and magic battles, with different classes having different abilities. Health, combat points and magic bars can be replenished by food, vital drinks and mana refreshers; some classes rely on wizards to heal them with magic. PvP Player versus player (PvP) combat is allowed on all servers without penalty in the form of duels. Both players must be over level 15 and within 30 levels. Then they must confirm the duel first, unless they are in the PvP Arena, an environment where anyone can fight anyone, which exists on all servers. Killing players is only allowed on the Yetti server and carries a heavy penalty. SOCIAL SYSTEMS: Lord System The lord system introduced in version 12 allows players to be elected lord of their server for 2 weeks. Players must have reached Hero or Master status to qualify as a Lord candidate. As a Lord, a player can introduce a number of events to the server. Lords will be assessed a tax of between 0% and 20% on all NPC purchases and returns, and will receive a share of all player taxes. 10% of eligible voters must participate in the lord election for a lord to be elected. To vote for a candidate, a player must be at least level 60 and have logged into the game within the last 30 days. Each player may only vote for one candidate per election. Party system Players who join a party will receive more experience and loot. A single player does not benefit from or harm a group. A party starts as a regular party, where experience is distributed evenly among party members in the same location. At level 10, the group becomes an advanced group, in which experience is distributed among players according to the damage they cause. An advanced group can have up to 8 players. With this many players in a group, the experience increases with each monster killed during the training. Guild System Guilds allow players to socialize; players within a guild can chat with each other and many in-game activities are guild-based. Guilds have a hierarchical chain of command consisting of the Master/Leader, Kingpins, Captains, Supporters, and Rookies. The guild master can change the permissions of guild members, allowing them to withdraw items or money from the guild bank, upgrade or downgrade other members, and get paid daily.
