Story

Andre Bishop is a boxer serving his time in a correctional facility. After winning a boxing match against another inmate, he is cornered and brutally beaten by several inmates, including his opponent. Bishop wakes up badly injured and damaged. The game then flashes back 4 years to his rise as a professional boxer. Bishop's professional career begins after he defeats 9-time amateur champion Joel Savon, earning him great recognition as a challenger. After a few successful fights, he and his trainer Gus Carisi are approached by DL McQueen, a famous fight promoter and longtime opponent of Carisi, who offers them to promote Andre under the management of his daughter Meagan. The two refuse, leading to a falling out between the corrupt promoter and Bishop. McQueen keeps pushing Andre to sign a contract with him, but he refuses every time. With the help of two corrupt police officers, he soon accuses Andre of assault. Andre is then sentenced to over 5 years in prison. After a series of fights in prison, Andre is framed and assaulted in the showers, where he is severely beaten. After recovering from his injuries, Andre starts working out and keeping fit in prison. He is upset when he learns that his brother Raymond has become a professional heavyweight with McQueen Promotions, the company that set him up. Shortly after his firing, Raymond gets him a job as an assistant trainer. Andre is now a heavyweight and a determined fighter, defeating two ranked heavyweights in regular sparring sessions. Shortly thereafter, Meagan approaches him and offers to get him a new professional license after she separates from her father's company due to disagreements. Gus returns as Andre's trainer and helps him make an unexpected comeback as a heavyweight. After several successful fights in the heavyweight division, Andre's brother Raymond challenges him to a fight to get a chance against the world heavyweight champion Isaac Frost. During the fight, Andre goes down but does not get back up to give his brother a shot at the title. Raymond then fights Frost and is defeated by a crushing knockout in the first round. Angered, Andre challenges Frost himself and manages to defeat him by KO. He becomes heavyweight champion of the world and McQueen is arrested after his crooked dealings in cheating Andre are exposed.
