Fictorum is an action role-playing game with fully destructible structures, a randomized node-based world map, and a satisfying magic system with on-the-fly spells and customization options. In Fictorum, your mage has real, legendary power from the start - unlike in most magic-centered games. Our spell casting and shaping system offers players an unrivaled level of customization and remodeling. Up to three runes can be applied to a spell, each affecting a different spell property and can be changed according to the player's needs, interest or whim. For example, you can strengthen ice shards to freeze enemies, extend the radius of a fire explosion to collapse a bridge and stop pursuers, or string together a lightning attack to hit multiple targets. Shaping makes spellcasting tactical and satisfying; an experience that's all about tailoring your magical arsenal to destroy any obstacle effectively, efficiently and enthusiastically. Still, there are plenty of challenges - the wizard must bring down a sprawling empire on his own. As you travel across the randomly generated world map, you'll find locations full of enemies and buildings to destroy.
Story
"Centuries ago, rival magical orders fought for supremacy and control of the realm. The mages of one order studied for most of their lives to master a single school of magic. After decades of fighting on the battlefield and in the great courts, a clear power emerged: the Fictorum, born with the talent to master all offensive schools of magic. Threatened by their dominance, the Orders joined forces to defeat the Fictorum. Due to their superiority, the Fictorum grew weaker and weaker and were eventually almost defeated, until... The Great Cataclysm: An elite of the Fictorum Order used their powers to shroud the planet in shadow; a simple mist that can corrupt and destroy anything it touches. Millions of people died, and though its efforts were effective, humanity survived - at the highest points of the world that the fog cannot reach. The surviving group of magical orders, now called the Inquisition, worked together to hunt down the remaining Fictorum and prevent this incredible power from ever being harnessed again. They built magical nodes in the dormant ley-line network that spreads across the planet, allowing the survivors to travel between the mountain peaks. Using these nodes, humanity established settlements and eventually entire civilizations on the crown of the world. All the while, the Inquisition was searching for traces of the Fictorum. You and a handful of others are the last survivors of the Fictorum. Without the destructiveness of your predecessors, you have spent your entire lives studying with your order on the deadly edges of the ley line network, where the Inquisition dare not go. Until recently, your studies have been without major incident: storms of misty clouds have become more frequent, bringing with them terrible, twisted creatures that have challenged even your own powers. As these storms became more frequent, you and the other members of your order left your home in search of safety, and after some time were captured by the Inquisition. Although your elders declared that they meant no harm and asked to be taken to the Grand Inquisitor to explain the new threats posed by the storms, they were executed by the army sent to deport you. Helplessly, you watched as your friends, colleagues and family were slaughtered before your eyes. As the last Fictorum awaiting execution, those who found you thought it a fitting end to force you to walk into the doom the First had caused. You survived to the limits of your strength, but your body was disfigured by the corruption. Though you were once young, you have aged decades. Your mind flickers with the horrors you have seen above and within the depths of the Mists. The Inquisition is responsible for what has befallen you and your order, and since it will not listen, it will burn for its actions."
