Fate/Extra

Fate/Extra

Fate/Extra is a Japanese role-playing game in the dungeon crawl style. The game is set in a parallel universe to the visual novel Fate/stay night. At the beginning of the game, the player can choose to play as a male or female character and select one of three servants - Saber, Archer or Caster, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Players spend a "week" in the game interacting with other characters, watching scenes that advance the game's story, talking to their servant in his or her room, and gathering clues to the identity of the enemy servant. At the end of each day, they enter the arena, a dungeon in which they can fight monsters to gain experience points and strengthen their servant. The game's turn-based combat system is similar to rock-paper-scissors - "attack" outweighs "pause," "pause" outweighs "guard," and "guard" outweighs "attack." During combat, both the player and the opponent set up six such moves at the beginning of each round.
