Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

As a spin-off, the gameplay of Brotherhood of Steel is very different from that of the other Fallout games. The gameplay is linear and not open-world. Instead of traveling freely through a large world full of locations and events like in other Fallout games, the player is limited to one location at a time. Places that have already been visited cannot be revisited, and new places can only be discovered by progressing through the story. In Brotherhood of Steel there are 50 different zones of varying sizes. Brotherhood of Steel uses many of the same mechanics as other parts of the Fallout series, including the SPECIAL attribute system (Strength, Perception, Stamina, Charisma, Intelligence, Dexterity, Luck). These seven attributes are assigned numerical values and determine most interactions in the game. Unlike other Fallout games, however, the values are constant for each character and are not customizable. Skills exist in this game, but they don't behave like the skills in other Fallout games. Rather, they are comparable to Perks. As the player levels up, they receive "skill points" to increase the strength of the skills. Some skills also have level restrictions.

Story

Immediately before Brotherhood of Steel, the three playable characters (Cain, Cyrus and Nadia) have joined the Brotherhood as new initiates. After selecting the character (hereafter referred to as the "initiate"), the game begins with the initiate searching for missing paladins in the nearby city of Carbon.
