Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard is a third-person shooter video game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 video game consoles, developed by Vicious Cycle Software and published by D3 Publisher. In Eat Lead, players take on the role of the title character, a "legendary" gaming hero who "returns to glory" in a new video game 25 years after his first game and 6 years after his last game. In reality, the character Matt Hazard is in his first video game, whose story was invented by D3 Publisher to document the rise and fall of the character's popularity. The Return of Matt Hazard marks Hazard's fictional "comeback" to the gaming scene. Hazard is voiced by Will Arnett, while Neil Patrick Harris embodies his nemesis Wallace "Wally" Wellesley. The game itself is a parody of action game clichés. The debut trailer from October 2008 was a Behind the Music parody titled Inside the Game, voiced by Jim Forbes. It tells about Matt Hazard's successes and difficulties, and reflects the evolution of the Duke Nukem game series from the early 8-bit games to modern consoles[1]. The cast of Eat Lead received a nomination at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards in the Best Cast category.
