ATOMINE

ATOMINE

Atomine is a procedural shooter with two sticks, set in a virtual world with a minimalist design. The player narrates on the screen the true events of Stuxnet, the first weapon ever created in the form of a computer virus. In each run, the player must clear the area of the level of all enemies to unlock the portal to the next level. During the run, each killed enemy leaves XPs, energy and/or weapon modules on the floor.

Story

In 2011, Sergey Ulasen discovered STUXNET, a malicious computer worm that initially spread through Microsoft Windows and targeted Siemens industrial control systems, defined as a dormant threat waiting for a trigger to activate. STUXNET is the first malware discovered to spy on and infiltrate industrial systems, and the first to contain a programmable logic controller (PLC) rootkit. The worm has been found primarily in nuclear power plants and oil drilling systems. ATOMINE, like STUXNET, is a virus that needs to grow stronger to reach the target and eventually infect itself and compile into source code. The electronic voice in the background and many elements on the screen tell the player what the goal of the run is.
